The students of Expert PU College at Valachil Campus had an exuberant moment with the Carnatic violin concert of the Violin Maestro Vidwan Kumaresh at the Cultural centre of the campus. The event was organized in association with SPICMACAY, Mangalore.
The programme began with devotional touch of music and ended with national anthem. The audience as a whole enthralled by listening to the mesmerizing performance of Kumaresh ji who employed the concept of ‘Raga pravaham’ which represents melodies exclusively for violin exploring the different dynamics of the instrument.
Vidwan Kumaresh ji was accompanied by Vidwan Harikumar ji on the Mridangam and Vidwan Krishnaswamy ji on the Ghatam. Towards the end of the programme, Vidwan Kumaresh ji interacted with the students and briefly explained the carnatic music and its importance for life.
Vidwan Kumaresh ji and percussion artists Vidwan Harikumar B, Vidwan T Krishnaswamy were felicitated by Prof. Narendra L Nayak, Chairman and Mrs. Ushaprabha N Nayak, Vice Chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions. Renowned Sitarist Ustad Rafique Khan, Trustee; Mr. Ankush N Nayak, Director of Information Technology; Dr. N K Vijayan Karippal, Principal; faculty members and the students were present throughout the programme.
Second PU students Mr. Suhas Udupa welcomed and compered the programme and Ms. Adline Riya Braggs proposed the vote of thanks.
