73rd Independence Day Celebrated at Expert P.U. College Valachil

Mangaluru:  73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Expert P.U.College, Valachil with national fervor and patriotism. Captain Ganesh Karnik a retired army officer and former MLC of Karnataka hoisted the tricolor at the Time Square in the campus and inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion he said that this year’s independence day celebration is special one as the whole nation is celebrating it under one flag and the nation is charged with patriotism than ever before with fully integrated India. Recalling the great sacrifices of millions of Indians to win the freedom, he lauded the supreme sacrifices of our soldiers while guarding borders to protect the nation. He gave a clarion call to the youngsters to realize their obligations towards the motherland.

 Dr. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Vice Chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions administered oath to the newly elected members of the students’ parliament. She advised them to be leaders of their own and contribute to the nation building. Conveying the greetings of the 73rd Independence Day, she extolled the selfless services of our soldiers.

Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman Expert Group Institutions said in his presidential address that each individual can contribute to the wellbeing of the country in his own capacity by discharging duties efficiently and in the right manner.

Dance, singing of patriotic songs and human pyramid formation by students were part of the cultural programme of the day.

Mr. Ankush N. Nayak, Director, Information and Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Mrs. Deepika Ankush Nayak, Ustad Rafique Khan, Trustee and Dr. N.K.Vijayan Karippal, Principal were present on the occasion.

 

Ms. Nidhi Shetty, General Secretary of student parliament welcomed the gathering and Master Shekhar Patil, President of student parliament proposed vote of thanks. Master Prajwal P. Rathod and Ms. Shashtishree Madhyastha compered the formal programme. Master Saideep and Ms. Bhoomika hosted the cultural programme. Mr. Rakshith M R was the programme director.
