Mangaluru: “Human enterprise has no limits. Each individual is capable of hitting the stars. It depends on the depth with which we think and connect to this world. Be the master of your destiny” Said Dr. P.S. Harsha IPS, the Commissioner of Police Mangaluru. He was addressing students after inaugurating the annual sports meet in a frolicsome atmosphere at the Expert Pre University College, Time Square ground, Valachil- Mangaluru. He said that hard work coupled with perseverance is the integral part of the journey towards the accomplishment of goal. He gave a clarion call to the students to dream big and give wings to their dreams in order to steer this great country towards making it a super power and robust economy.
Earlier there was a spectacular display of march past with precision and perfect synchronization by the students from the four houses Arkavathi, Hemavathi, Nethravathi and Sharavathi. Master Rahul R. Nayak, Sports Secretary led the march past.
Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman, Expert Group of Institutions presided over the function and honoured the chief guest with a memento.
Dr. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Vice Chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions; Mr. Ankush N. Nayak, Director Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions; Architect Mrs Deepika A. Nayak and Dr N. K. Vijayan Karippal, Principal graced the occasion.
Mr. Raghavendra Shenoy S. vice principal, administered the oath to the participants of the sports and games.
Ms Nidhi Shetty, General Secretary, Student Parliament accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries. Master Rahul R. Nayak, Sports Secretary (Boys) proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Balakrishna Shetty, HOD of Chemistry was the Programme Director. The programme was anchored by Ms Jasmine Prathibha, lecturer in English. Later, the students participated in various sports and games.
Mangaluru: The annual sports meet of the Expert Pre University College; Valachil came to a glittering close with Ms. Shreema Priyadarshini, an international star athlete participating in the valedictory function as the Chief Guest. Motivating the participants in her address she said, “Never listen to your body over your mind when you are in the pursuit of an achievement. Always have the hunger for success and work hard. When a thought pops up in the mind to give up, ask yourself why you had started it.” She also narrated her own success journey and urged the students to make the best use of the available opportunity and do something unique. She gave away the prizes to the winners of various events and championship.
Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman, Expert Group of Institutions presided over the function and congratulated all winners and participants in sports and games. He advised them to draw inspiration from achievers like Ms Shreema Priyadarshini who succeeded only because of sheer hard work.
