Expert Pre-University College Receives Eat Right Campus Certification from FSSAI

Expert Pre-University College, Mangaluru, has become the first PU college in Karnataka and the only campus in Dakshina Kannada to receive the Eat Right Campus certification from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This prestigious certification is awarded to campuses that demonstrate a commitment to providing safe, healthy, and sustainable food to their students and staff.

Dr. Praveen Kumar C H, Designated Officer for Dakshina Kannada from FSSAI handed over the certificate to Prof. Narendra L Nayak, Chairman of the institution, and Dr. Ushaprabha N Nayak, Vice-Chairperson of the institution, during a ceremony held at Expert PU College, Valachil.

EXPERT is now the first pre-university college in Karnataka and the first and only campus of any kind in Dakshina Kannada to receive the Eat Right Campus certification. This is a testament to the college's commitment to providing a healthy and supportive environment for its students and staff.

The Eat Right Campus initiative is a part of FSSAI's Eat Right India movement, which aims to promote a healthy and sustainable food culture in the country. To receive the Eat Right Campus certification, campuses must comply with a rigorous set of criteria, including:

  • Implementing food safety management systems
  • Serving healthy and nutritious food options
  • Promoting sustainable food practices
  • Raising awareness about food safety and healthy eating
